Spring 2016

Advanced Placement Psychology: Term Paper - Disorders

You may choose any 'mental disorder', however it must be approved. Your paper must cover:

Causes
Symptoms
Treatments
Research

Describe two current research programs at accredited universities

Current is 1990 or after

- Length: 5 pages (5 to 5 ½ pages – no more, no less (yes, I will measure)) - Double Spaced

Must have a bibliography - does NOT count toward the length requirement
Font: 12 New Times Roman
Margins: Top=1”, Bottom = .5”, Left and right = 1” (yes, I will measure)
NO blank lines between paragraphs or sections! (you can set this up in preference settings)
No section titles
Cover page must be in approved format - does NOT count towards the length requirement
Outside Sources: At least three:

Web resources may be used
Web sites must end in .EDU or .GOV (minimum of two from EDU)

- YOU MAY NOT site Wikipedia

- Websites ending in ORG or COM MUST BE PRE-APPROVED in writing.!! This may be done via email.

- The textbook may NOT be used as a source and/or may NOT be quoted or referenced in the paper.

Due Date (at the BEGINNING of class):

- February 2, 2016 (25 points): Preliminary topic submission.

- March 2, 2016 (25 points): Final topic submission – you may NOT change the topic of your paper after this date!!!

- April 12, 2016 (300 points): Final version – at the beginning of class.

Late papers:

- Turned in on April 13, 2016 - Minus THIRTY PERCENT (30%)!!

- Turned in on April 14, 2016- Minus FIFTY PERCENT (50%)!!!!!!

- Computer and/or printer problems are NOT an excuse for turning in papers late

- No, you may not go to the library (or use my computer) and print your paper during class - Arrive at school early and print it out before school!!
